Street cats, also called feral cats, are typically more reclusive than street dogs so while their plight may not seem as dire – it is. Left unsterilized, street cats are prolific at producing several litters of kittens each year. Most of these kittens will die (frequently killed by predators or flea and tick infestation) before reaching maturity. The survivors face a harsh life of disease, starvation, cruelty, and injuries from cars and in-fighting over territory.
