Nieve
Our first rescue, Nieve was rescued as a puppy from the jungle in Mexico after a larger animal attacked her. She received medical care and lots of love from her foster family in Tulum before traveling to the United States for adoption by an incredible couple and their other dog, Sky. Now, Nieve’s happily-ever-after life includes lake swimming and mountain climbing.
Chita
Beautiful Chita was tied to a wall in Tulum, Mexico. When the rope cut into her neck, she got an infection which caused the rope to rot and break, letting her escape. She now lives a wonderful, happy life in New York, furever safe from abuse.
Neli
Gentle Neli was fostered by a kind Mexican family while we searched for a home for her. It took almost two years, but it was worth the wait because Neli is now a cherished family pet living near Montreal. Fun fact: she is now trilingual!
Maria
Sweet Maria was rescued from the streets of Valladolid, Mexico. She is now living the good life in upstate New York as her forever family prepares to take her on a summer camping adventure.
Trixie
Adorable Trixie was rescued from the streets of Tulum, Mexico. She is now living with a doting doggy-mama – napping on her choice of dog beds, chasing squirrels in the backyard, and birdwatching from her favorite window.
Nieve’s Story
In the fall of 2021, a homeless man carried an injured puppy into a restaurant in Tulum, Mexico. He had found the puppy in the jungle where it presumably had been attacked by another animal. He did not have a way to care for the pup himself and said that he would have to take it back to the jungle and leave it there unless someone could help. Our friend, Elizabeth, agreed to take the puppy and brought her to a local vet. The pup was named Nieve (Spanish for “snow”) and after she received medical attention and was vaccinated and sterilized, she was placed in a temporary home in Mexico. From there, Street Dog Love flew Nieve to the United States where she was adopted by Mary Beth and Josh. Today, Nieve is a sweet, goofy girl who loves hikes, swimming, squeaky toys, and playing with her big brother Sky.
